January 25th was a busy, important, day in history

Random family fact: Mossil and great-Aunt Heidi were born on the same day on different years. How's that for family planning. :)

Congrats to Fossil and Mossil on another happy year together!

Quinlan's last Month birthday.......

Last Wednesday of this past week was the 20th, Q's official 11th month birthday. We are excited for the one year birthday coming up, though we aren't planning on doing anything too serious to celebrate. We figured that we could save the celebrating for when he will remember it.

We took our birthday photos and did all the measurements. If you are keeping track, he weighed 22 pounds, he was about 31 inches long (he squirms a whole lot and is hard to measure) and his head circumference is up to 18 inches (big brain....?). He is loads of fun, standing with anything he can pull up on and moving all around. He is also learning lots and will stop something when he is told, "No" - most of the time.

Monkey hands.....if I can grab it, it can go in my mouth.

I'm trying to hide it, but you can still tell I am smiling.

Sitting up, happy, and still growing.

I love laughing at (and with) my Mom.

Food is awesome! Blackberries are fun, the juice goes EVERYWHERE!

Skype

Being the first true Texan on either side of our family, Q has lots of family members who live all over the country. It isn't the same as holding him and playing, but Quin is quite the technologically-inclined little dude; he loves to grab cell phones, remote controls, and the laptop computer. We haven't left a Wii remote out yet, but I imagine he would try to steal and eat it, too.

For some Skype conversations, Q will hang for a little bit and then crawl away to bigger and badder toys (read: things his Dad will let him touch), but for other conversations he is raptly involved with what is happening.

Here you can see Mossil and Fossil engaging Q with a little musical number. I shot the video because one of the most recent and humorous skills Q has picked up is some dancing. He has thankfully inherited his Mom's rhythm. Check out Q's bobbing and dancing below, and let us know if you want to Skype.

The Giraffe Video

As mentioned in the previous post, we have a video of Aunt Liz giving Q the rocking giraffe for Christmas. This was the present Q got before going to bed Christmas Eve. The Riedlingers celebrate, according to the German custom, on Christmas Eve; so we wanted Q to have something also. Liz gave a great gift and of course, it was wonderful to see his face light up with enjoyment.

Please excuse the commentary. No excuses other than that like all the other videos, it was shot without a script.
